PREKO AND SURROUNDINGS

Preko is traditional Dalmatian island village with some 2000 inhabitants, which represents the capital on the island. By the ferry boat harbour there is local bus terminal, all kinds of shops, marketplace, florists, bars, traditional Dalmatian restaurants with old recipe meals, regular restaurants, fast foods, bakeries, bank, gasoline station (both for cars and boats), Internet caffe, basic medical and dentist care, pharmacy etc.

The citiy of Zadar and its surrounding has 3000 years urban history, therefore it makes great place to see some
of the archeological items just while taking a walk, and of course to hear something new. Zadar is also modern
mediterranean town bursting of social events, especially during the summer season.
From the port you can reach the individual localities of the island Ugljan by bus. In Preko there are various food shops, daily a market with fresh vegetable, fruits, fish etc.. Several traditional restaurants, Pizzeria, bar with Internet coffee, Pasticceria and Gelateria. Also has a bank, a general medical profession, dentists and pharmacies.
In the gate also has a gas station for PW and boats.

There are also different kinds of beaches. Very fine sand is in the «Jaz» beach (suitable for the children).
Other beaches are suitable for sunbathing, swimming, skin-diving and other activities.

Night life on the island is organized through caffe bars, night and disco clubs.

Island Ugljan is connected to island Pasman with bridge, so it is possible to see both islands by car without
using ferry boat. From island Pasman ferry boat takes you to town Biograd na moru.
On the end let me just mention, it takes one hour from Preko by boat, and also one hour from
Zadar by car to reach four National parks surrounding Zadar county (Kornati islands national park,
Paklenica national park on Velebit mountain, National park waterfalls on river Krka and Plitvice lakes national park).
